Dear
Friends and Colleagues of NET:
The theme of an
annual report has as its purpose the expression of an important value which
the organization expresses through its purpose and mission and to report on
accomplishments consistent with this value over the past year. This year
the chosen value is Diversity. NorthEast Treatment Centers has always
been recognized as diverse in its programmatic response to community
needs. In addition, it has always been an organization with a very
eclectic mix in its target populations. This year we are specifically
highlighting the diversity of our staff not only in terms of ethnicity,
retaliation, and national origin but also in the skills and educational
background they bring.
We acknowledge
that the core of NET is composed of its dedicated staff who perform their
roles and meet their responsibilities throughout the year. They are our
strength and future and they are the match to the diversity of our patients
and other consumers. Our consumers, both in Delaware and Pennsylvania,
present with a great variety of problems and needs. They reflect
representatives of the many migrations within and to the United States that
are forming us as a nation. In order to meet their needs, NET has
embraced the need for diversity in both its staff and programs.
It
is in this spirit that we dedicate this year's annual report to OUR
STAFF. Indeed the theme of the report is based on community and
diversity, and the expression of those values locally has been well expressed
by the multiplicity of unique murals found throughout the Delaware
Valley. The skills and interests of the artists are varied and represent
many origins. Our staff are varied and represent many origins. At
last count, over 25 states and 24 countries have contributed to our staff
complement. Added to the richness of diversity is the depth of
experience and training, all in the service of a common goal. To quote
our mission: To provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare services and
social services to adults, children, and their families utilizing an
integrated continuum of care services system that is quality driven and
cost-effective.
In
meeting our missions, our staff provide consumers with a unique blend of
cultural sensitivity, academic training, and experience. The Board of
Directors wishes to thank all those who have supported NET over this
year. Thanks is especially extended to the mural artist who have given
us permission to use their work and vision in support of our own. We
look forward to continuing NET's excellence of service delivery to those who
seek help and healing in the future.
